Behind the name
The opportunity to name your newborn is a unique experience. During the pregnancy, we looked at a multitude of names whilst contemplating profound issues such as potential nicknames, initials, and likely mispronunciations.
Asha (AH-shah)
Asha is a name that was at or near the top of our list for many of the 9 months. We both love the sound of the name and it fit the bill for a baby of rich cultural background.
Asha is a name of Sanskrit origin meaning "hope". Surprisingly, Asha is not even in the top 1000 female baby names for 2005, behind common names such as Yesenia, Miracle, and Rhiannon.
Ruby (ROO-bee)
Early on in Leanne's pregnancy, she had a dream that our newly conceived baby was out of the womb and able to talk. In the dream, she unequivocally told Leanne that she wanted her name to be Ruby. At first, it was mostly a funny story but over time the name grew on us so we decided it would be a fun middle name to give her. Plus, if she really does want her name to be Ruby, she can easily be someone who goes by her middle name...
Ruby is a name of English origin meaning "the red gemstone". (Surprise!) It has been working its way up the popular baby name charts to #132 in 2005.
So, there you have it... Asha Ruby Morris (A.R.M.)

You mean you knew of a name so beautiful as Rhiannon and you didn't choose it?!
I'm thinking you guys need to install a web cam in your house so I can visit with Asha whenever I want!
Yea, we could tele-babysit her. We'll just give you guys a call when she needs to be fed or changed. You could call it open-source child care. She'll be raised by the internet!
We'll work on getting a web cam up and running. Now if you could remotely change her diaper that would be cool!
I hadn't thought about her initials. It made me laugh out loud. Literally.
