Visiting Great Oma and Opa
Asha got all dressed up today and took a trip to West Seattle to visit her great Oma and Opa. Oma has been having problems with her arm and Opa with his back, so they have not been able to come visit us and meet little Asha. Now that things have settled down a bit, we decided we would bring Asha to meet them. We are sure glad that we did, because it seemed like it really made their day to meet their littlest relative -- Oma said meeting and holding Asha was like getting a million dollars! Asha was on good behavior and gave Oma and Opa lots of cute looks, tiny grunts and even a couple of smiles. Oma could not get over the "cute" nose, "perfect" fingers and "velvet" skin of little Asha. I think she is happy with her great-grand daughter!

In other news, Asha continues to be a good eater and a pretty peaceful newborn. She rarely cries, but has become quite the grunter! Asha makes little (and BIG) grunts while she is sleeping, waking up, hungry and especially in her frequent efforts to understand and utilize her newborn digestive system. She also has been getting stronger and stronger and has been holding her head up for longer stretches of time and looking around. She is awake more these days, and loves to see what it happening around her, especially what mama and papa are up to. When Asha is quiet and alert, she loves to be kissed on her face and lips, and she will even smile in response to this "kissing game!" This is a fun game for everyone, because mama and papa love to kiss her too!

Wow, they look pretty happy! I'll have to send your link to Holland so the folks in the old country can see Oma, Opa and the little cutie!
